We would rather you knew the limits now. Here is what Circlip does not do yet, and what is being built.
Not in Circlip today
- Filing KRA returns. Circlip keeps the VAT figures right; it does not send them to KRA. eTIMS is being built against KRA’s test system and will be switched on per garage.
- Card-machine payments. Cash, M-PESA and bank transfer are recorded. There is no card terminal link.
- Automatic M-PESA matching. Today you type the M-PESA code and Circlip checks it. Matching payments to cards on their own is next on the list.
- Automatic SMS and WhatsApp. The desktop prints; it does not send messages. Automatic SMS is coming to the phone app first.
- Several branches on one stock room. Circlip is one site, with up to a few PCs on it.
- Mac or Linux front desks. The desktop runs on Windows.
- Accounting software export. Excel today. QuickBooks and Xero exports are planned.
Who should not buy it
- A chain that needs one stock room across branches
- A garage that must take card payments inside the system
- A shop that wants its software to file tax returns for it today
- Anyone who needs a Mac on the front desk
What you can count on
- Your records are one file on your own PC, exported to Excel whenever you like
- The desktop never expires and never goes read-only, with or without Cover
- The vehicle reference is reference only: the fitter confirms the fit
- If Circlip ever stops trading, a final version with the licensing removed is published within 90 days, with the export tool. How to leave →
